After completing his service in the Navy, Asa ventures to a secluded village to visit his sister and her shepherd husband in the remote Kazakh steppe.
In this rural setting, Asa faces the challenge of finding employment, and he soon learns that getting married is a prerequisite for securing a job. However, his hopes are dashed when he realizes that the only eligible young woman in the village, Tulpan, shows no interest in him. Against the backdrop of the sweeping steppe, "Tulpan" explores themes of longing, identity, and the pursuit of dreams. The film masterfully weaves moments of humor amidst the poignant narrative, capturing the nuances of human relationships and the aspirations that drive us forward  in a world that can be both unforgiving and full of unexpected beauty.
