CTB Film Company is the biggest Russian independent privately-owned film production company that is known for its award-winning original content. For nearly 30 years, CTB has created an impressive portfolio of 170 feature films, TV shows, animated movies and series, and documentaries. The company has 4 Academy Award nominations, 3 Asia Pacific Awards as well as a solid number of top awards from the renowned international film festivals.
CTB Film Company was founded by legendary producer Sergey Selyanov in 1992. Sergey Selyanov is also the Head of Russian Association of Motion Pictures and TV Producers, he received Producer’s AMPA and Winner of 2021 FIAPF Award for outstanding achievement in Asia Pacific regions among his other numerous awards.
The portfolio of movies produced under CTB Film Company flagship is diverse ranging from social dramas and comedies to sci-fi, fantasy adventures and family animation.
Within several years CTB Film Company was producing motion pictures directed by one the brightest and most talented film directors in the world Alexey Balabanov: Brother (1997), Of Freaks and Men (1998), “ It does not hurt”(2006), “Сargo 200”(2007), ”Me too” (2012).
In 2003 Sergey Selyanov received the National Award of the Russian Federation in cinematography for war drama Cuckoo, which was also warmly accepted and highly praised by numerous international film festivals including San Francisco International Film Festival.
In 2007 historic blockbuster Mongol made in co-production with Kazakhstan was nominated for an Oscar Academy Award. The story outlined the rise of one of the most charismatic and merciless war leaders, Chingiz Khan.

CTB Film Company has been producing family animation films. Four animation comedies about “Prince Ivan and Grey Wolf” and ten animated adventures of “The Three Heroes” franchise have been leading domestic theatre box-office within the last decade.
2021 has become a triumph for CTB Film Company. Romance Compartment Number 6 created in co-production with Finland won Cannes Grand Prix, My Sweet Monster family animation was sold to 97 countries and fantasy adventure Upon the Magic Roads became a hit at the Russian box office. The animated adventure “Secret Magic Control Agency” by CTB Film Company and Wizart Studio has seized leadership on global screens on Netflix platform within the first week of release.
