St. Petersburg in the middle of the 1990s. In an old boiler room on the outskirts of the city lives a taciturn Yakut, retired major and veteran of the war in Afghanistan. He works as a stoker and clumsily pecks out his story on an old typewriter in his spare time. And although he is a hermit, the stoker frequently receives all sorts of visitors.
