“Right to Heal” is exploring the history of first women doctors in Russia . In the 19th century the society approved only the roles of wife and mother for any female person. Women were not allowed to become surgeons or therapists; and if they wanted to go into medicine, they could only perform the duties of midwives and nurses. The show praises brave and educated women who started struggling for the ideas of gender equality in the profession. After receiving an excellent midwife's diploma in the capital, 20 -years old Lisa follows the young brilliant surgeon in the province to build a clinic for serfs. Her mission is to heal people and fight ignorance of the peasants and noble society, paving the way for women to enter professional surgery in the male world.
