There’s more freshness and electricity in five minutes of Brother than in all the Lethal Weapon films put together. —Jay Carr, The Boston GlobeAfter serving two years as a clerk in the Army, Danila Bagrov returns home to discover that life in his provincial town has little to offer him. He moves to St. Petersburg to join his older brother, who is rumored to be doing well in business, only to discover that he is a professional killer caught up in internecine warfare among Mafia groups. Danila signs on as his brother’s assistant and takes on the job of killing the mobster known as the Chechen. Before long, Danila has the Chechen’s men after him, but between dodging bullets and looking for the latest record from Russian rock band Nautilus, he still finds time for romance, partying, and philosophizing.
